Why!?!
A perfectly logical question to ask is why on earth would we ignore our mothers wise words of warning, willingly laugh in the face of danger and attempt such a feat as this? Yes it is going to be an awfully fun adventure which a whole bunch of obstacles for us to test our wit and charm skills against but we also need to raise ?1000 which will be spilt between Mercy Corps Mongolia and The Christina Noble Children's Foundation.
Mercy Corps International
Mercy Corps Mongolia supports rural communities, helping them with their economic and social needs, helping individuals, families and communities to become more self-sufficient, diversified in their production, and better linked to local, regional and national markets. They help to preserve and sustain natural resources, help herding families with the quality of their animals and in turn their exports (Cashmere is one of Mongolia's main exports) and to provide opportunity for new businesses through small loans.
The Christina Noble Children's Foundation
Mongolia has a complex problem with street children forced
to turn to gangs a
nd
crime, and CNCF is trying to break this cycle of poverty by helping to keep
children in school and at home. CNCF have created the Ger Village
project which provides a home for orphaned and street children, also
supplying nursery facilities and medical care.
